Advice to train crews
----------------------

*On Friday 20/04/2018 at approximately 1600 hrs the pedestrian crossing that provides access to the DPTI Mile End Passenger Station from Sir James Congdon Drive will be reopened for public use.

*The community group has indicated that they will hold an ‘opening event’ at the crossing on Saturday 21/04/2018 at 1100 hrs. Local dignitaries may be present.

ARTC has agreed to open the Mile End Pedestrian Crossing with the following controls in place until further notice.

ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL
----------------------
The Network Controller will only permit one train in the section at a time between Mile End and Islington.

Follow on moves are not permitted.

The Network Controller is not permitted to store routes between these locations in the Mile End to Islington direction.

ENGINEERING/DESIGN CONTROL
--------------------------
*An engineering solution has been implemented in the field interlocking which prevents Signals 43, 45 or 45E at Mile End from displaying a proceed aspect unless the preceding train has cleared the overlap track on Signal 31 at Islington.

*Follow on movements will still be available for use from Islington Signal 30 and Mile End Signal 44 for Mile End bound movements.

Advice to Network Control has been provided and the engineering control has been implemented, tested and is certified for use.
