Updated Port of Melbourne Operating Procedures
Commencing 0001hrs Wednesday 11 June 2025 ---------------------------------------------------
Commencing 0001hrs Wednesday 11 June 2025, an updated version of the ‘Operating Procedures for the Port of Melbourne Precinct’ will come in to effect.
Sections of the procedures that have been updated include: # SECTION 2: Controlled Points and Signals at PoM - 2.8 and 2.9.2 - updated to allow normal Caution Order working for movements travelling to and from the Dock Lines in the event of failure signals APD4 and APD6 and 5 points
# SECTION 4: Appleton Dock - Driver in Charge - Updated throughout to remove mandatory 3-way call involving the Melbourne Metro Network Controller when rail traffic crews agree arrangements for Driver in Charge working - Updated throughout with requirements for Train Transit Manager to approve stabling on Common User Roads - 4.2.9 Maintenance Activities added to clarify requirements for maintenance representatives to liaise with relevant rail traffic crews when Driver in Charge working is in effect.
# SECTION 6: Appleton Dock - Common User Sidings - Updated throughout with requirements for Train Transit Manager to approve stabling on Common User Roads.
# SECTION 8: Appleton Dock - PoM Wharf - Updated throughout with requirements for Train Transit Manager to approve stabling on Common User Roads.
# SECTION 10: Swanson Dock - Driver in Charge - Updated throughout to remove mandatory 3-way call involving the Melbourne Metro Network Controller when rail traffic crews agree arrangements for Driver in Charge working - Updated throughout with requirements for Train Transit Manager to approve stabling on Common User Roads - 10.2.9 Maintenance Activities added to clarify requirements for maintenance representatives to liaise with relevant rail traffic crews when Driver in Charge working is in effect.
