Introduction of Electronic Authority - Advanced Train Management System (ATMS) Rules, Safeworking Form and Amendments to the ARTC Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network

From 0001hrs Thursday 02 July 2020, ARTC will bring into use on the ARTC Network, a new suite of Safeworking Rules and Safeworking Form to be used on the Network where the Advanced Train Management System (ATMS) is to apply.

To facilitate the introduction of the ATMS Rules and reference to Emergency Management, minor changes have been made to the ARTC Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network, with the Addendum being reissued.

Changes to the ARTC Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network are as follows:
14.2 Yellow Light Indicator - Amended to include ‘ATMS lines’
14.3 Flashing Yellow Light Indicator - Amended to include ‘ATMS lines’
14.6 Repeater Indicators - Amended to include ‘ATMS lines’
29.1 Emergency Management - updated reference to Procedure and website location.

The new Safeworking Form, ATMS Authority From (EAS) SW8 is available on the ARTC website located at; https://www.artc.com.au/customers/operations/rules-procedures/sa-wa-western-vic/safeworking-forms/

The new Rules are titled: Electronic Authority - Advanced Train Management System (ATMS), Version 1.0, Dated Issued: 02 July 2020.

The new Safeworking Form is titled: SW8 ATMS Authority From (EAS), Version 1.0, Date Issued: 02 July 2020.

The amended ARTC Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network is Version 5.1, Date Issued: 02 July 2020.

Users of the ARTC Network are reminded that they must ensure that they are using the most up to date version of ARTC ATMS Rules, Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network and Safeworking forms.

All users of the ARTC Network affected by the change must make themselves familiar with the content of the ARTC ATMS Rules, ARTC Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Rail Network and Safeworking form and successfully completed training.
