Introduction of Day-Assist Network Controllers - NCCS

Commencing 0600hrs EST - Monday 21st July 2025

To support improved operational coverage, NCCS will be introducing Day-Assist Network Controllers across the existing Main South B (MSB) and Main South C (MSC) territories.

The Day-Assist Controllers will manage specific portions of the current MSB and MSC boards and will operate under three (3) possible configurations.

1. MSB Day-Assist Configuration
- Coverage: Junee (inclusive) to Albury (exclusive)
- Network Controller: MSB Day-Assist Network Controller

2. MSC Day-Assist Configuration
- Coverage: Albury (inclusive) to Seymour (exclusive) and Benalla to Oaklands
- Network Controller: MSC Day-Assist Network Controller

3. MSB/C Combined Day-Assist Configuration
- Coverage: Yerong Creek, NSW (inclusive) to Wangaratta, VIC (inclusive)
- Network Controller: MSB/C Day-Assist Network Controller

When any of these configurations are enacted, the existing Main Sth B & C board territories will be adjusted to reflect the revised areas of operation.

Information for Rail Traffic Crews

Outgoing ICE/NTCS Calls:
- These will be directed to the appropriate board based on the location of the rail traffic, consistent with current operational processes.

Incoming Calls Displayed on ICE Units:
- MSB or MSC Day-Assist Configurations: Calls will display as either Main South B [MSB] or Main South C [MSC], depending on the originating board.
- MSB/C Combined Day-Assist Configuration: Calls will display as MSB/C Day Assist [MSB/C].

Further Information

- Network Control Phone Numbers: There are no changes to the existing Main Sth B or Main Sth C board numbers.
- Call Routing: Callers will be prompted to select the applicable territory when calling, based on the configuration in effect on the day.
