SCT INTERMODAL TERMINAL BARNAWARTHA OPERATING PROCEDURE

APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING ROUTE:-
SOMERTON TO ALBURY CORRIDOR

The SCT Barnawartha siding is located on the Western Side of the ARTC Main Line with the Terminal having access from both North and South directions connected to the Standard Gauge West Line.

Home signals BAW18 and BAW24 controlling access into the Barnawartha Intermodal Freight Terminal are classified as Intermediate Home Signals in the west line single line section between Wangaratta and Wodonga.

Home signals BAW12 and BAW32 controlling access from the Barnawartha Intermodal Freight Terminal onto the ARTC main line are classified as Home Departure Signals controlling the entrance of trains into the single line section between Wangaratta and Wodonga.

Automatic Signal EES2773 at 277.265km is fitted with a 3 aspect head which will display Stop, Caution Normal Speed and Clear Normal Speed.

BAW18 Intermediate Home Arrival Signal at 281.840km is provided to allow down direction access to the SCT siding, or along the West Line.

1U Turnout on the West Line at 282.030km. This allows access to the SCT Siding in the down direction on the West Line.

1D Crowder Derailer at 282.127km on the SCT siding

BAW12 Home Departure Signal is provided for up direction movements departing the new SCT Siding onto the West line at 282.132km

BAW10 Home Departure Signal at 282.440km is provided to protect 1U points and allow up direction movements along the West Line

BAW30 Home Departure Signal at 284.310km is provided to protect 7D points and allow down direction movements along the West Line

BAW32 Home Departure Signal is provided for down direction trains departing the new SCT Siding onto the West line at 284.603km.

7U Catch Points at 284.608km on the SCT siding

7D Turnout on the West Line at 284.710km. This allows access to the SCT Siding in the up direction and up through movements on the West Line.

BAW24 Intermediate Home Arrival Signal at 284.914km is provided to allow up direction access to the SCT siding, or along the West Line

Automatic Signal EES2884 at 288.502km is fitted with a 3 aspect head which will display Stop, Caution Normal Speed and Clear Normal Speed.

All new point machines are dual control.

All new signals are LED type.
