Somerton @ 21.453 KM to Donnybrook @ 34.051 KM

From 18:00 hours Monday, 15 September 2025 the following Signalling shall be installed but Not Commissioned between Somerton @ 21.453 KM to Donnybrook @ 34.051 KM.
The Signals shall be installed at the following chainages between Somerton and Donnybrook. - Signal CGB14 at Chainage - 25.610KM (Signal Mast, Up Signal towards Melbourne) - Signal CGB12 at Chainage - 25.080KM (Gantry, Down Signal towards Sydney)
Signals will be commissioned during the Vic North East Possession in May 2026.
In addition, the rail fencing between the Northern Arrival Road and the ARTC Mainline will be in service between chainages 23.573KM and 24.3868KM. The new rail fencing will have refuge gates installed at 20LM intervals with appropriate signage highlighting the exits.
CONTROLS In accordance with the controls agreed as part of the risk assessment carried out with ARTC on the 03 July 2025, the following control measures shall be put in place upon the installation of the uncommissioned signals: - Signal Aspect to installed turned to the field - Black Cross to be placed on each aspect of the Signal as per TA20 Rule 5, Section 5. - Signals to be bagged with Padlocks installed - Regular inspections to be carried out by the Somerton Intermodal Project. The signage installed to notify of the refuges within the new rail fencing will reflect the following wording -DANGER NO SAFE PLACE- -REFUGE <10m>-
