TA20 - ARTC Code of Practice for the Victorian Main Line Operations
These rules and procedures are applicable from Dimboola Loop (east from signals 365/12 and 365/10 and west to signals 365/30 and 365/32) to Albury (north to signal WOD/6 and WOD/18 and south from signal AY58) excluding the line between Benalla and Oaklands.
Effective immediately and until further notice, the following restrictions on the use of Track Force Protection, as defined in TA20 - ARTC Code of Practice for the Victorian Main Line Operations, will apply on the ARTC Victorian Network running lines.
TA20 Rule 3, Section 15, Track Force Protection Restrictions on use
The use of Track Force Protection within yards under Rule 3, Clause (k), Section 15 is still permitted.
Inner handsignaller position is to be defined based on assessment of the work site and yard speed limit, and must be captured in the worksite protection plan and approved by ARTC. (TA20 Rule Book does not cover yard protection limits, it only refers to mainline, normal speed protection limits).
Track Force Protection may be used on running lines for protection of the track where maintenance work is being undertaken only if:
- the work is being undertaken by ARTC Asset Maintenance Services personnel, or contractors engaged by ARTC Asset Maintenance Services, and
- the work is within the Wangaratta or Seymour Provisioning Centre Asset Maintenance boundaries.
When the work is completed, copies of the Worksite Protection Plan, Pre-Work Brief and Worksite Log and Diary, must be sent to the email address: email@example.com.
Track Force Protection may be used for adjacent line protection and does not require written approval from the General Manager Asset Maintenance Services or General Manager Operations Services, Interstate Network.
In all other circumstances, Track Force Protection must not be used on running lines for protection of the track where work is being undertaken unless written approval is obtained from the General Manager Asset Maintenance Services or General Manager Operations Services, Interstate Network.
