LAVERTON CROSSING LOOP

(TRAIN NOTICE 6 OF 7)

COMMISSIONING OF NEW SIGNALLING BETWEEN NEWPORT AND LAVERTON LOOP

Upon commissioning of the new signalling between Newport and Laverton Loop, the following will apply:

- Centralised Traffic Control between Newport and Laverton Loop 20/26 will be withdrawn and Absolute Block Signalling will be brought into operation.

Signage

- END ABS START CTC signs will be erected at signals 20/30 and 20/32 at Laverton.
- START CTC sign will be erected on signal 20/34 at Laverton.
- END CTC START ABS will be erected at signal 20/26 at Laverton.
- END CTC START ABS will be removed from signal NPT724 at Newport.
- END ABS START CTC (SG ONLY) will be removed from signal NPT707 at Newport.

Signalling at Newport
---------------------------
- New home signal 10/30 for west bound movements will be commissioned located at Champion Rd Level Crossing.

- New home signal 10/26 and co acting signal 10/26P for east bound movements will be commissioned located at Maddox Rd Level Crossing.

SIGNALLING AT CRT:

- Points 29 will be renumbered 11U and 11D leading from the main line to the CRT siding will be provided with dual control point machines controlled by the ARTC Network Controller in Mile End.
- New home signal 15/6 for west bound movements will be commissioned located at the facing points leading into CRT.
- New home signal 15/10 (located on a signal bracket) for east bound movements will be commissioned located on the main clear of the trailing points leading into CRT siding.
- New home signal 15/12 (located on a signal bracket) for east bound movements will be commissioned located in the CRT siding controlling the exit of movements from the CRT siding.
- Existing home signal 15/4 will be renumbered signal 15/30 for west bound movements
- New home signal 15/26 (located on the Laverton side of the Kororoit Creek Rd Overpass) for east bound movements will be commissioned.

SIGNALLING AT LAVERTON:

- Home signal 20/6 will be relocated to the Melbourne side of the Maidstone St Level Crossing and will display upgraded aspects allowing improved speed onto the main line or crossing loop.
- Points 7 will be relocated to a point in the other side of the Maidstone St Level Crossing providing access into the Laverton Crossing loop track.
- Additional points providing access to proposed sidings will be placed in situ for commissioning at a later date, secured and booked out of service.
- Home signals 20/10 and 20/12 for east bound movement will be relocated in an up direction short of the overlap of points 7 and will have updated signal aspects.
- Home signals 20/10 and 20/12 (located on a signal bracket) for east bound movements will be commissioned located at the overlap clearance point for points 27.
- Existing home signal 20/26 will have updated signal aspects.
