Disable ICE Radio Track Kilometre Data Display

Thursday 24th October 2024
- Commencing 1000hrs AEDT
---------------------------------------

A software bug affecting ICE Radios has been identified that allows for ICE HMI to display track kilometre post data, which was disabled as it has not been approved for use. In all scenarios, when selected the menu option to display the track kilometre post data should normally present as "0,0".

The ICE HMI menu option for "kilometre post" display has been available since ICE version 5.0 which was released in May 2022. At the time of release, it was agreed between RIMs to disable this data from being displayed pending full validation.

A change has been approved to address the software bug. From 1000 hours AEDT, 24th October 2024, ARTC will release the configuration for the download to occur for ICE Radios that will take effect upon the next power cycle of the device. After the successful download, the new configuration will remove any kilometre data that has previously been downloaded and the "kilometre post" display option should default to present as "0,0" regardless of the position the ICE unit is located in.

Additional Details:
GPS Latitude and longitude position information will continue to be available for display on the ICE users HMI and should be used as accurate locational information. By default, the ICE HMI will show the GPS latitude longitude location display after a successful power cycle of the device.

In the scenario the ICE HMI has been configured to display kilometre post data after a power cycle is completed, performing the following steps will change the display back to the latitude longitude display option.
