The Operating instructions for North Geelong C as detailed in this Train Notice must be read in conjunction with Standing Train Notice Number 5584/2011 Operations of Movements, North Geelong and V/Line SW Circular.

Clause C - Movement from Gheringhap into the V/Line operated tracks at North Geelong C

Clause D - Movement from V/Line operated tracks at North Geelong to Gheringhap


MANAGEMENT OF MOVEMENTS NORTH GEELONG C

(a) OPERATION OF RAIL TRAFFIC

Commencing from Monday 11 March 2019 and until the commissioning of the signalling at North Geelong, the following operating instructions will apply for the Rail Traffic under the manual operations at North Geelong C.

1. A qualified Signaller will be attendance at North Geelong C for all Rail Movements.

2. North Geelong C Signaller Contact Number 0428 921 225

3. Only One (1) rail movement will be permitted to operate in the North Geelong C managed precinct (Grain Loop) at any one time.

4. Slot releases 46 (Departure Track), 44 (Arrival Track) and 42 (Dual Gauge Track) will not be operable and Trains will be operated between the ARTC Controlled Network and North Geelong C precinct will operate as per the Signal failed conditions as detailed in the V/Line operating procedures and ARTC Standing Train Notices.

5. Thompson Road Level Crossing will not operate and will be manned by a Flagman (Level Crossing Keeper) to operate the test switch, CAN forms will be issued by the ARTC Network Controller for trains crossing Thompson Road Level Crossing when operating to/from North Geelong C.

6. Level Crossing Keeper will be positioned at Thompson Road Level Crossing for all Rail Movements on the ARTC Network and will contact the ARTC Network Controller and advise when they are in position.

7. North Geelong C Operating procedures will be detailed in a separate V/Line SW Circular.


(b) TRAIN MOVEMENT FROM GHERINGHAP TO NORTH GEELONG C PRECINCT

Prior to a Train being signalled from Gheringhap towards North Geelong (Thompson Road LX), the ARTC Network Controller must communicate with the North Geelong Signaller and come to an understating if the train can be accepted.

The Signaller at North Geelong C will confirm with the ARTC Network Controller NCCW, that the approaching train can be accepted to the Dual Gauge main line track.

Once the ARTC Network Controller has been advised of the approaching Train can be accepted by the North Geelong Signaller must

1. Prepare and issue a CAN form for Thompson Road Level Crossing.

2. Ensure the Level Crossing Keeper is in position at Thompson Road Level Crossing and ready for to operate the Test Switch for the Train Movement.

3. Prepare and issue the driver Authority (Signallers Caution Order) to pass Signal 72/40.

## Note - CAN form can be issued prior to the train arriving at Signal 72/40


(C) TRAIN MOVEMENT FROM GRAIN LOOP TRACK TO THOMPSONS ROAD LX

The North Geelong C Signaller must communicate with the ARTC Network Controller NCCW and confirm if the train can be accepted to the ARTC Network from Thompson Road.

The Train Details including Train Number Lead locomotive and proposed departure time must be provided to the ARTC Network Controller.

Provided the train can be accepted by ARTC, The North Geelong C Signaller can advance the train towards Signal 72/32.

The Driver on arrival at Signal 72/32 must contact the ARTC Network Controller and advise they are ready to depart.

Once the ARTC Network Controller has been advised by the driver of the train is stationary at Signal 72/32 must

1. Prepare and issue a CAN form for Thompson Road Level Crossing.

2. Ensure the Level Crossing Keeper is in position at Thompson Road Level Crossing and ready for to operate the Test Switch for the Train Movement.

(*)3. Prepare and issue the driver Authority (CTC Arrival Message) to pass Signal 72/32.(*)

## Note - CAN form can be issued prior to the train arriving at Signal 72/32 provided the correct conditions exist.
