Wallan 1 Points - Cripple Siding
Monday 03/03/2025 to Friday 12/09/2025. ------------------------------------------------
Due to the deferment of commissioning of upgraded Wallan Loop signalling, the flowing procedure applies until commissioning in September 2025.
In accordance with Rule 23 (g) section 15 of TA20, using uncommissioned infrastructure that is not yet commissioned (uncommissioned) may be given limited certification for specific purposes including rail traffic movements. Before Wallan 1 points is used, a Maintenance Representative must certify that it is fit for the specific purpose. Wallan 1 Points must be unsecured before use and secured after use.
Operation of Wallan 1 Points - Procedure -------------------------------------------------- 1. Inspection of 1U/1D points by qualified and competent Track/Signal person that the points are still in normal with clips / pad locks and spike in situ. 2. Request 3 point to be reversed and confirm reverse detection obtained. 3. Confirm normal indication of 1U/1D points with Train Control. 4. On arrival of the train and in conjunction with Train Control a qualified and competent Track/Signal persons will unlock remove spike and rail clip and manually operate 1U/1D points to reverse and ensure they are mechanically locked in reverse. 5. 1U/1D points will be put back in motor, padlocked and the point clips applied to ensure no movement. 6. Wallan Whittlesea LX will be operated with the test switch by competent person. 7. Train Control and competent person to complete required Safeworking arrangement and control the movement of the train into the cripple sidings on the DN side of 1D points. 8. Competent person to confirm with Train Control that train is stabled in Cripple siding Down side of 1D points. 9. In conjunction with the competent person and Train control unlock and manually operate 1U/1D points to normal and ensure they are mechanically locked in normal, clipped and spiked. 10. Confirm normal indication of 1U/1D points with Train Control. 11. Request control to call 3 points normal and confirm normal detection obtained. 12. Wallan Whittlesea Lx restored via test switch. 13. Inspection of 1U/1D points by qualified and competent Track/Signal person that the points are back in normal with clips / pad locks and spike in situ. 14. Competent person and Train control to cancel the established Safeworking arrangement.
